Virtual reality is a powerful tool that helps in the realisation of a design and helps in the participation process with the community and clients. The pilot case of high density Sluisbuurt in Amsterdam has been a subject of city-wide discussion for a number of years. We will present a Virtual Reality pilot of a new city street in this area. In our study we show that we can actually measure the behaviour of people, where they look and walk, etc. We hope with this new data/knowledge, we can make a Better City at Eye Level #fromlivabletolovable. Virtual reality in placemaking is an emerging participation tool as it helps in creating a lovable and attractive area which involves the future residents, local entrepreneurs, municipality, developers and other stakeholders to visualise what is going to be there. Looking forward to the power & potential of VR in the coming expo at Valencia Placemaking Week.
