The modern landscape of La Marina de València is the result of a big scale urban transformation propelled by the celebration of the America's Cup in 2007.

Shortly after, the irruption of the crisis proved the weaknesses of the project and La Marina became for most people the visual evidence of the collapse of a seemingly infallible development model, to which there seemed to be no alternatives.

This workshop will be a good introduction to the main venue of PWE. We will briefly explain the history prior to 2016, when La Marina de València began to rethink itself. We will discuss the difficulties of departure, why public space is considered an element of central importance for La Marina and the guidelines that frame the actions developed so far and the ones to com.

After this first introduction to the context, we will perform an on-site exercise to approach the potential of one of the elements - undervalued until now - of greater importance for the Public Space Strategy of La Marina: the covered square of Tinglado Nº2.
