The session will start with a 30 min presentation in La Base, followed by an exciting visit to Valencia's famous fishermen quarter - El Cabanyal to learn more about its cultural and historic value.  The tour will be guided by Vicente Gallart Torán - a local of the neighbourhood. The historical development as well as the recent evolution of El Cabanyal makes it an interesting and notable example of an urban area undergoing deep changes, both in its physical and social structure.

Vicente Gallart Torán is an architect, born and raised in the area of El Cabanyal in València. In the 90s he was one of the members of the community platform Salvem El Cabanyal and was later appointed as a director of the public organization Plan Cabanyal-Canyamelar S.A.
Vicente has led the candidacy of the recent urban regeneration strategy for sustainable neighborhoods of the City of Valencia to the CESBA NEIGHBORHOOD AWARD 2019.
