A pleasant and exciting day exploring Valencia's markets and learn more about the city as a case study. This day is a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in local knowledge.

El Mercado de Ruzafa will be the first stop, a market whose community-based identity is defined by its local everyday consumers. From Ruzafa the group will head to el Mercado de Colon, where a previously local market was recently reconverted into a leisure space for the Valencian higher-middle class. The tour continues in Plaza Redonda where city centre touristification processes have caused the replacement of traditional local commerces. After Plaza Redonda, the team from Crearqció will introduce you to La Tapineria, an urban space where new commercial strategies are being experimented since the real-estate crises. Finally the tour will end in Mercado Central, not only an architectural gem of the Valencian Art Nouveau heritage but also one of the biggest and most visited markets in the Spanish city.

* If time allows, the tour will also include a visit to Mossen Sorell, the example of a failed Gourmet market. In this case, it will be interesting to draw a comparison with La Tira de Contar, a market offering agricultural products from the valencian Huerta.
