The Journal of Public Space has been established in 2015 by City Space Architecture in partnership with UN-Habitat as an open access resource aimed at spreading public knowledge on public space. Started as an academic journal, it is currently willing to host also contents from professionals, NGOs, activists and artists who are actively engaged in the process of making public space a relevant asset for cities and communities. During the session we will launch a call for papers for a special issue collecting stories from all those affiliated to Placemaking Europe, to be published in 2020. We will also discuss how Placemaking Europe and The Journal of Public Space can cooperate structurally in period articles in the Journal, included in a dedicated section which will have section editors. This session is the opportunity to know about a global research effort aimed at defining public space as one of the priorities for the human future of our cities.
