Eating is a multi-sensorial experience. We don't only taste food through our mouth, but also through smells, sights, sounds and other embodied feelings. The places where we eat play a vital role in how and what we eat and taste. Just as different cultures have different rules regarding what can or cannot be eaten, there are also social norms that tell us where we should eat and where we should not. The "Edible Placemaking" session invites you to experience the impact that places have on our tasting experiences, and how placemaking can be driven through food. We will taste a set of ingredients and products and discuss how different physical, social and mental elements shape our perception of food. To wrap-up the session, we will ideate together possible future alternative places, and food experiences in La Marina de Valencia.
