Placemaking Week Europe

This morning plenary is meant to introduce the most important themes of the week by reflecting on their importance for placemaking today. This introductory panel will hopefully help you better find your way through the full program.

After welcoming words by Charlot Schans, Sandra Gomez and Giuseppe Grezzi, Ramon Marrades will introduce La Marina de València as a case study. Jeroen Laven will present Placemaking Europe. Levente Polyak, Ciaran Cuffé, Vivian Doumpa, Minouche Besters will then join the panel introducing and discussing the five main themes of Placemaking for Innovation, Creative Bureaucracy, Open-source sharing from placemaking practice, Future-proof cities through placemaking and Waterfront cities.

This first panel will be followed by an in depth exploration of the Creative bureaucracy theme with the guidance of Charles Landry. The topic will be further discussed through a conversation with Margie Caust and Phil Wood.

Finally Dominika Belanska and Hajir Kheder will be invited to join the stage and share with all of us their experience as placemakers and Oscar M. Blanco Sierra will present the inspiring project of local migrant gastronomy in Valencia, Cocinas Migrantes (they will be serving delicious food at lunch :)
