With Vivian Doumpa as moderator, the opening night will kick off Placemaking Week Europe 2019 with an inspiring panel of interventions as follows:

Jeroen Laven & Laska Nenova, Ramon Marrades and Charles Landry will introduce Placemaking Week Europe and the organizing team that consists of members from Placemaking Europe, STIPO, La Marina de Valencia and the Creative Bureaucracy festival.

This first introduction will be then followed by welcome words by the Mayor of Valencia Joan Ribó and Vicent Soler i Marco (Treasury and Economic Model Councilor for Generalitat Valenciana) who will then leave the stage to the main panel of the night.

Fred Kent will introduce the concept of placemaking, it's background and it's impact. Global and European examples of placemaking practices will then be discussed with interventions from William Dufourcq (Aurore Association/Les Grands Voisins), Paloma Medina (Sound Diplomacy), Nate Storring (Project for Public Spaces) and Margie Caust.

THIS SESSION IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO JOIN! :)

*The official language of the event is English but during this session simultaneous translation to Castellano will be available.
